Nearly 500 wines from 150 Hungarian wineries will be exhibited at the upcoming Hungarian Wine Summit (HWS) in Millenáris Park in Budapest between 21 and 25 April. This large-scale international wine trade event aims to enhance the country’s image as well as to expand international business and trade opportunities.
The predecessor of the conference debuted in 2022, organised by the Agricultural Marketing Centre as a co-event of SIRHA Budapest (International Hotel Catering and Food Trade Exhibition), the largest catering and HoReCa event in Hungary at that time. After a year’s break, the HWS is coming back as an independent, exclusively wine-focused event hosted by the Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency. In line with the national wine marketing strategy, the Summit is offering more than 100 merchants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with hundreds of Hungarian wines at an exclusive large-scale event.
The accommodation for the five-day event is at the Budapest Marriott Hotel, which is also hosting the Welcome Party. The hotel’s rooftop bar, Liz and Chain, guarantees the best atmosphere and the most beautiful view over Budapest for a perfect kick-off event. Meanwhile, the conference day of the Summit will be hosted by the award-winning exhibition space Millenáris Park, offering a masterclass-focused morning programme and a more flexible afternoon session with a silent tasting zone and a B2B matchmaking area.
The Summit will continue with exciting study tours starting on the second day. Local experts will guide the guests through selected wine districts, such as Tokaj, Eger, Villány, Szekszárd, Etyek and the Balaton Wine Region. The tours not only provide an opportunity for winemakers to present their wines, but also enable the invitees to fall in love with the Hungarian countryside and discover the true spirit of its terroir.
Stay tuned for details on the masterclasses, study tours and many more updates during the countdown.
