Babits Winery

The history of the Babits family dates back to the time of King Béla IV, when they arrived in the Wine Region as Italian vignerons and introduced the latest viticulture and winemaking techniques. They have preserved and nurtured their traditions ever since with faith, expertise and an innovative approach. Today, they cultivate almost 30 hectares of vineyards in the historic Hegyalja region. The winery’s iconic grape varieties are Furmint, Hárslevelű, Yellow Muscat and Kövérszőlő, and they produce a full range of wines from these grapes, using state-of-the-art technology while preserving tradition — from dry Furmint through Aszú to Eszencia. Babits Winery is more than just a winery; it is a bridge between the past and the future. Every barrel and every bottle carries a piece of Tokaj, honouring history while taking responsibility for the future.
