Babarczi Pannonhalmi Marianum, 2022

Its deep ruby colour with crimson reflections, and the church window formation on the sides of the glass, point to a full-bodied wine. The aroma slowly opens to reveal a blend of wild blackberries, blueberries, redcurrants and sweet spices mingling with the distinct, yet not overpowering, notes of the wooden barrel. On the palate, it is big-bodied, with firm yet ripe tannins and tart yet sweet flavours of blackberries, cloves, nutmeg and vanilla. The influence of the new oak barrel is still evident on the finish. This is a serious young Cabernet Franc that will improve with time.
