This is the fourth vintage of producing traditional method sparkling wines at the Homola Winery. This category is becoming increasingly important so the winery plans to open its own sparkling wine cellars in the coming years. Furmint is widely used in Hungary for traditional method sparkling wines because of its good acidity and neutral taste profile with a predominantly mineral character depending on the terroir. Homola’s Furmint vineyards are located on Permian red sandstone and marga. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel for 5 months, followed by an extended period of bottle ageing.
